Are you looking for new date night ideas in St. Catharines? We've got some tips for a night out with your special someone.

Skate the Night Away
For a unique weekend outing, attend a public skate. The City of St. Catharines has four arenas with eight ice rinks located throughout the city. For $3.50 each you get access to the rink for two hours. Times and locations vary but the weekend schedule is as follows:

  • Bill Burgoyne Arena (129 Linwell Road), Friday: 4-6:00 p.m.
  • Seymour Hannah Arena (240 St. Paul Street West), Saturday: 1-3:00 p.m.
  • Haig Bowl Arena (17 Beech Street), Saturday: 7-9:00 p.m.
For a touch or romance, warm up your sweetheart during the skate with a thermos of hot chocolate or warm apple cider.

Try a Pub
Check out the Merchant Ale House (98 St. Paul St.), a pub with craft beers, friendly service and a laid-back attitude. This is the perfect location to head for a first date. Try the brewed-on-premises beer and modern pub fare. For an affordable evening, schedule your date mid-week for the $5 Tuesday menu and seasonal draft beer.

The Mansion House (5 William St.) hosts events and bar nights every week. It is the oldest tavern inSt. Catharines and the longest running licensed establishment in all of Canada. The Mansion House is great spot for live music. Kick off the weekend with a great date and take advantage of the Friday Happy Hour between 4-8 p.m. with a half-price menu.

Pack a Picnic
Plan a fall picnic getaway at one of St. Catharines' beautifully manicured parks. Visit the St. Catharines Farmers Market and pick up some fresh and local food for your snacks. For a special touch, pick up a bouquet of autumnal coloured flowers as well. Some great food ideas for picnics include cheese, crackers, cured meats, olives and fresh bread. Be sure to match the meal with your favourite Niagara region wine.

Panoramic Properties’ apartments and townhouses are ideally located by a number of parks. We suggest heading to nearby Walker’s Creek (142A Parnell Rd.) or Malcolmson Eco-Park (325 Lakeshore Rd). Build up an appetite by walking the trails and settle in for a picnic for the afternoon. Bring a blanket and indulge in the spread of goodies.

Enjoy a Night In
Your own apartment or townhouse can be the perfect spot to host a date. Prepare a meal together and explore a new recipe. Set the mood for dinner with a great playlist. After the meal, throw on a movie and enjoy the theatre experience at home.
