The event is a spectacular showcase of the Capital’s official flower. This year’s program if full of fun and fantastic activities at venues across Ottawa. The Panoramic Properties blog team wants to help you make the most of the celebration.
The Canadian Tulip Festival is produced by the Canadian Tulip Legacy, a non-profit charitable organization. It’s purpose is to celebrate the historic gift of tulips from the Dutch Royal Family as a symbol of international friendship. The Dutch Princess Margriet was born in Ottawa during World War II – the only Royal ever born in North America. The tulip symbolizes this legacy as well as the role of Canadian troops in the liberation of The Netherlands 71 years ago.
