Get to know the Thorold Public Library

An adventure waits in your backyard. Take time this winter to explore one of Thorold’s finest resources, located near our Thorold apartments and featured today by the blog team at Panoramic Properties.

A neighbourhood treasure

The Thorold Public Library is practically across the street from Front Street Apartments (40 Front Street), just a four-minute walk away. The library is home to thousands of books, magazines, newspapers and digital materials with countless stories to delight, information to share and ideas to spread.

How to get started

Begin exploring your local library by signing up for a membership card. Membership is free and open to all ages, although children must apply with their parents. Your new card will give you access not only to the books you see on the shelves, but also to music and eBooks you can enjoy from the comfort of Front Street Apartments.

Fast facts

Did you know that the Thorold Public Library is home to one-of-a-kind collections? The Observation Post, the Thorold Sports Reunion Photographs and the Fred Campbell Collection are just a few of the unique finds at the library.

Activities for all ages

Special events are held at the library for adults, teens and children. Adult events include everything from book clubs to knitting classes, Zumba to chess, a Writer’s Forum to insightful computer lessons. Teens, meanwhile, won’t want to miss fun activities like New Movie Madness night or the opportunity to play Magic: The Gathering with friends. Finally, treat your child to storytime or a G-rated movie matinee. To learn more about upcoming events, like the library’s Facebook page.

Library hours are from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday through Thursday and until 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. The library is closed Sunday. Panoramic Properties encourages you to pick a time this week to see what the Thorold Public Library has for you. For more information about Front Street Apartments, visit our website.
