How to stay cool at home if you don't have AC

Summer is here and we’re excited, are you? You might not be if you don’t have air conditioning. If your apartment feels a little stuffy in the sweltering summer season, here are our best tips for staying cool if you don't have air conditioning.

Take a cold shower when you get home

If you’ve been outside in the heat, be sure to take a cold shower when you get home. This will help you cool down quickly so you can enjoy your apartment’s actual temperature. It might not be that hot, but you might be!

Drink enough water

When you’re dehydrated, you’re likely to feel overheated in the summer. Sip on cool or cold water when you’re at home to help keep yourself cool, calm and collected. Your hot apartment problem may just evaporate!

Get a fan

There’s nothing worse than hot, stagnant air in your apartment in the summertime. Use a fan to get some air circulation going. The breeze will be refreshing on a hot day. If you put a bowl of ice in front of the fan it will cool the air slightly, too!

Chill your sheets

It’s hard to sleep when you feel hot. Open your windows for a cool evening breeze and chill your sheets! Put your sheets in a ziplock bag and pop them in the freezer for an hour before bed to slip into a chilled set and sleep like a baby.

The team at Panoramic Properties hopes you give these tips for staying cool at home when you don’t have AC a try in your apartment! They’re pretty cool, no?!
