Start Planning for St. Patrick’s Day

Where does the time go? February flew by and now it’s already March with only sixteen more days until St. Patrick’s Day! If you can’t tell, the Panoramic Properties team is already excited to celebrate all things Irish. This year, the celebration falls on a Sunday and we’re sure that St. Catharines will have a good number of St. Patrick’s Day events. Everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day and we encourage the residents of our St. Catharines apartment and townhome communities to join in on the fun. Here are our picks for where to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day inSt. Catharines.
Heading out to a pub is traditional on St. Patrick’s Day- you can find music, parties and of course, lots of pub grub and Irish beer at bars throughout St. Catharines.

The Kilt and Clover (17 Lock Street) in the Port Dalhousie neighbourhood has a huge selection of beers. This pub was established on St. Patrick’s Day back in March 1997 so we know that there will be an anniversary celebration in addition to its St. Patrick’s party!  This Irish-Scottish pub has Guinness on tap so you can indulge in a pint or two. Sundays at the Kilt and Clover are known as Sunday-Fundays with $3 tacos… Any predictions for what an Irish themed taco special for St. Patty’s would look like?

Our blog has previously featured a few of our favourite local pubs in our Date Night in St. Catharines post.  Two of our choices in that post included: the Merchant Ale House (98 St. Paul St.)  and the Mansion House (5 William St.).  Whether it’s for St. Patrick’s Day or a date night, or both, our picks still stand. The Merchant Ale House’s in-house craft beers and friendly laid back service make it a great choice for a fun day of celebrations. The oldest tavern in St. Catharines, The Mansion House is known throughout the city as a great spot for live music. The bar hasn’t announced any special event for the weekend of all things Irish, but we’ll be sure to keep you posted.

Last but not least, we’ve picked the Feathery Pub (20 Vansickle Rd.). This spot encourages guests to “Join us for a pint, a steak and Guinness Yorkshire and a smile!”… so you know it’s going to be gearing for St. Patrick’s Day. The pub has live entertainment up to 4 nights a week -keep your eyes peeled for more details for a special St. Patrick’s Day show.

Just remember to get to these picks early – the bars are known to gather lines up as early as 1 or 2 p.m. For our residents who live at the Welland Woods townhomes, plan ahead for a DD or take a cab if you’re planning on having more than just a healthy serving of Shepard’s pie. We hope our picks have planted a seed to start preparations for a lucky, safe and wonderful St. Patrick’s Day.  The Panoramic Blog will keep you posted on details for St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations in St. Catharines as we hear more.
