Go Skating

There are many skating rinks in the city, including the Leslie Park Rink and the Ben Franklin Skating Rink, but the Rideu Canal Skateway should be at the top of your list. According to the Guinness Book of World Records, this is the largest skating rink in the world. It’s open 24 hours a day, from December to March, and it’s free. This is something you won’t want to miss.

Winterlude Festival

Experience Canada’s northern culture and climate by going to the Winterlude Festival. It’s the perfect way to celebrate winter and enjoy all the things this season has to offer. It runs for three weeks, from February 1 to 18, and it’s guaranteed fun for everyone. Check out ice sculptures, snow playgrounds and live music shows.

Winter Jazz Festival

Bundle up and listen to some great tunes at the annual TD Jazz Fest, which runs from February 7 to 9. Enjoy a broad spectrum of artists and a tribute to Aretha Franklin.

Winter Brewfest

Spice up your winter with local gourmet food and a wide range of hand-crafted beers at this year’s Winter Brewfest. There will be music, bonfire and and even a 45 minute yoga class. Sip and Savasana with your fellow yogis and enjoy four beer tastings. The Winter Brewfest is on February 15 to 16.
