Do you love fine wine? If you live in Ontario, there’s no better place than the Niagara region to enjoy it at a local winery. These Niagara wineries are calling our names this fall.

Between the Lines Winery

Between the Lines Winery is a fabulous yet casual winery that’s well worth a visit for those new to wine and wine connoisseurs alike. Their winemaking is brave, daring, and bold and their wines taste sophisticated and fun. They offer a variety of tasting experiences where you can sip and learn about wine and winemaking. Their Black Glass Tasting is a blind tasting that will help you learn more about 4 wines. If you’re looking for a romantic experience, their Decadent Tasting is a great option. You’ll try their sparkling and ice wines paired with aged cheddar cheeses, chocolates, and fruits. If you just want to try their best of the best wines, go for their Classic Tasting. If you’re feeling peckish, try their Charcuterie Picnic. You’ll dig into a selection of locally sourced cured meats and cheeses alongside a flight of wine.

Lakeview Wine Co.

Lakeview Wine Co. is home to a wide selection of award winning VQA wines. Their winery produces Ontario's top-selling wine brands, including EastDell, 20 Bees, and Lakeview Wine. To produce their wines, they source grapes from more than 25 Niagara grape growing families. There are many tasting and touring experiences to enjoy here. The Lakeview Tasting is a great, personalized option. The Lakeview Cheese Please Tasting lets you try 4 different styles of Lakeview Wine wines, paired with 4 different types of cheese. If you want a well-rounded experience, try the Lakeview Vine to Wine Tour and Tasting experience to enjoy a vineyard tour with a structured tasting of 4 wines. If you plan to visit in the evening, try the Lakeview Fireside Lounge experience which lets you kick back and relax with your own gas fire pit and Muskoka chairs for up to 4 guests.

Pillitteri Estates Winery

The Pillietris, the family behind the Pillitteri Estates Winery, has been committed to creating a legacy for future generations since 1948 when they opened their first farm. Today they welcome guests from around the world to explore their barrel cellar, vineyard and sustainable winemaking facility. They’re also the official winemaking partner for the Canadian Olympic Team! They offer a wide variety of tasting flights and tours. From private to public tours and tastings, and everything in between -- they even offer yoga in the vineyard!

The Hare Wine Co.

As far as Niagara wineries go. The Hare Wine Co. is envied for its abundant fertile lands that get maximum sun exposure. This perfect environment yields rich, complex and full-bodied wines. Their premium grapes lend a very distinct taste that you’ll notice if you pay them a visit this fall. You can enjoy one-on-one or group tastings and tours here. You can also dig into their fabulous pizza and charcuterie offerings on their scenic patio.

Big Head Wines

Big Head Wines is run by a family of passionate wine lovers. They source only the best fruit from the Niagara region, and work closely with local growers to ensure that they produce fantastic wines. They’re open for tastings where you can enjoy flights of 4 1-oz pours for $25 per person.

Icellars Estate Winery

Icellars Estate Winery is a small, pet-friendly, boutique winery that was founded in 2010 by the ICEL family. They produce awesome small batch wine inspired by classic winemaking styles deeply rooted in the history of viticulture and winemaking. It’s best to book your tasting online in advance for a group of 6 or fewer people. It will be at most 45 minutes long and well worth it!
